Project description

Despite its many advantages, sonographic methods require considerable theoretical knowledge, technical skill and practical experience to yield reproducible result. The first aim is to conduct echocardiography and vascular sonography in mice as a standard procedure and central method. The method can later be employed by other research groups within and outside the CTH. Several proposed projects with potential overlap, which could benefit from this method, have been identified within the CTH.

Consequent to the first part, the candidate attends a research fellowship at the laboratory of J. P. Cooke (Stanford University) beginning in July 2012.

Mentor

Mentor of the Virchow-Fellow is Philip Wenzel, MD, Consultant of preclinical research at the Department of Medicine 2.
