Studying and teaching at the Universitätsmedizin Mainz
The Universitätsmedizin (University Medical Centre) Mainz at the Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz (JGU) is the only training facility of the state Rhineland-Palatine for human medicine and dentistry. One in ten of all matriculated students of the JGU are studying human medicine (approx. 2.650) or dentistry (approx. 680).
The task and concern of the Universitätsmedizin is an offering of a qualitive high-value, diverse and differentiated curriculum for the students and continue work on its improvement. During recent years, many innovative approaches were brought on the way, which have significantly and measurably raised the level of education. The good performance of the Mainz students at the state examinations, as well as the results of the curriculum-evaluation strongly confirms this.
