MD Thesis

Doctoral theses succeed when they make sense for the applicant's curriculum vitae and primary interests. Our spectrum within the Department of Internal Medicine I. is diverse. Therefore, primary interests such as nephrology, gastroenterology, oncology or rheumatology should already be addressed in the application.

What course should you follow?

If you are interested in doing a doctoral thesis in the field of internal medicine (areas M1), you should primarily write specifically to the senior physicians of the Department of Internal Medicine I medical colleagues who are researching in your desired field.

Furthermore, senior colleagues require information such as:

-what the motivation is to spend additional time clinically or in the laboratory,

-whether a semester off can be taken or is accepted,

-whether the doctoral thesis also fits into the curriculum vitae please enclose.

In addition, you can also contact the Department for the Promotion of Young Scientists or the Mainz Research School of Translational Medicine (TransMed) for advice regarding a doctorate in Mainz.
