If you are interested, please contact us in writing or by phone or you will receive a call from the staff at our study center.

Appointment Booking
At that point we will make an appointment for the examination at the study center and discuss your questions.

Participant Information
You will then receive your appointment confirmation, the information brochure for participation and further information on the study process on site by mail.

Consent and Examination At the Study Center
During the examination appointment (approx. 5-6 hours) you will receive detailed information on the study. After your written consent, we will begin with the examinations.

Phone Interview
2.5 years after your screening appointment, we will call you to ask about any changes in your health.

Further Information on the Process

  • During the on-site examination appointment, you will of course also have the opportunity to discuss all of your questions about the study with our study staff.
  • Only give your written consent to study participation once all of your questions have been answered. Of course, you can withdraw your consent at any time without giving reasons.
  • The examinations are carried out by medical professionals and are free of charge for the participants.
  • Upon request, you will receive a comprehensive report of the medically relevant examination results at the end of the examination for discussion with your general practitioner or specialist.
  • You will also receive a study card and a study diary. In the study diary you can then record changes in your health situation until the telephone interview.

Please Note:

The Gutenberg Health Study is an observational study. The comprehensive individual examinations are performed in a comparable (standardized) manner for all participants and are conducted without individual consultation or treatment. The results of the examination will be available for discussion with the attending (family) practitioner. They can integrate the results in the existing health history and, if necessary, initiate further examinations.
