Yu-San Kao

Yu-San Kao obtained her master’s degree in microbiology and immunology from the National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, in 2018. Her thesis focused on the vaccination strategies against Dengue virus infection. After gaining experience at the Lower Saxony International Summer Academy (LISA) in Hannover and Formosa Immunology Spring School in Taiwan, she decided to pursue her PhD degree in Germany. In 2019, driven by the passion for the well-balanced immunomodulation, she joined Tim Sparwassers laboratory at the Institute of Medical Microbiology and Hygiene, Medical Center of the Johannes Gutenberg University. Currently she is student at the Mainz Research School of Translational Biomedicine (Transmed) and part of the international PhD programme (IPP) of the IMB in Mainz. Her research focus is immunometabolism in inflammatory skin diseases as part of a project within collaborative research center/ Transregio 156.
