 The Institute of Toxicology is a basic research institute and part of the medical school at the University Medical Centre of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. We have a strong commitment in teaching medical students, dental students as well as students from Life Sciences the important principles of Toxicology, Pharmacology and Tumor Biology.

The Institute of Toxicology is a basic research institute aimed at elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying the cellular response to DNA damage and genotoxic stress. The DNA damage response plays a central role in human diseases and age-linked syndromes including cancer, neurodegeneration and aging.
