The comprehensive characterization of people with a history of COVID-19 is a fundamental requirement for the breakdown of the still poorly understood clinical picture of Post-COVID.
The goal of the Gutenberg Post-COVID Study includes the determination of the frequency, severity and risk factors of persistent - subclinical and clinical - changes in health with consideration of the organ systems and psychiatric/psychosomatic effects. In addition, possible pathomechanisms in the development and course of Post-COVID can be determined with an extensive bio bank.
Within the framework of the Gutenberg Post-COVID Study, comprehensive physical and psychological examinations are performed in various departments of the University Medical Center Mainz, which are relevant for the research of Post-COVID.
A project duration of 10 months is estimated for data collection. The project started in December 2021.
The study is funded by the Ministry of Science and Health Rhineland-Palatinate.
