Not only did the COVID-19 pandemic bring the new, acute COVID-19 disease, but also the late symptoms following a previous SARS-CoV-2 infection, the "Post-COVID syndrome".

The multiple health and socioeconomic implications of this new syndrome are complex and not yet adequately understood. A deep understanding is required for adequate diagnosis and therapy. The University Medical Center Mainz (UM) addresses the high need for research with the interdisciplinary "Gutenberg Post-COVID Study". The results should also enable the development of an evidence-based, interdisciplinary care model.

Therefore, the aim of this study is to examine individuals with past SARS-CoV-2 infection regarding effects and late effects in order to gain a deeper understanding of Post-COVID.
