Welcome to the website of the Mainz Research Center for Mental Health (MZPG)!The MZPG pursues the following objectives:
- It bundles research activities in the field of mental disorders at the Psychiatric, Psychosomatic, and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Departments of the University Medical Center and the Institute of Psychology at the University of Mainz
- It strengthens translational and interdisciplinary research to advance knowledge on the diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders and their prevention and makes research available to the public
- It develops and evaluates new interventions for personalized prevention and health promotion, online and offline psychotherapy and drug treatments at a high level of data safety (Data SHIELD)
- It promotes clinician and medical/natural scientists in cooperation with TRANSMED at the University Medical Center
- It strengthens research which addresses the needs of patients, their relatives and their caregivers by help of a patient/client advisory board
- It conducts gender-sensitive research and uses large cohorts and clinical trials for its research – see also Study Center for Clinical Trials in mental disorders (SPE)
- It closely collaborates with the Leibniz Institute for Resilience Research (LIR), the Focus Program Translational Neurosciences (FTN), the ReALity program as well as other partners at the local, national and international level
