You can participate if you meet certain criteria:
Nonagenarian Cohort
- At least 90 years of age
- Resident in the city of Mainz, the Mainz-Bingen district, the Alzey-Worms district, the city or district of Bad Kreuznach, the Donnersberg district, or the city of Worms
- Able to manage everyday life without major limitations (e.g. able to dress and perform daily personal care without assistance)
All examinations are conducted at the University Medical Center Mainz.

In a scientific study, the protection of personal data, particularly when linked to medical results, is especially important. The handling of personally identifiable data, examination data, health and social data, as well as biomaterials, complies with the requirements of applicable data protection laws.
All study-related data and samples are stored in a study database in pseudonymised form. This means that personal data are encoded and replaced by a code number so that study results cannot be directly linked to specific individuals. Your personally identifiable data, such as your name, address, telephone number and, where applicable, health and pension insurance numbers, are stored in a separate database. This allows us to contact you to arrange appointments and to collect information about changes in your health over time.
You have the right to withdraw from the study, or from individual parts of the study, at any time without giving a reason and/or to request the destruction of your biomaterial. No, participation in the MRI examination is optional. Before the MRI examination, you will receive medical information about the procedure and your eligibility will be assessed.
