The DECIDE project network, coordinated by Dr Torsten Panholzer and funded as part of the BMBF's "Digital Progress Hubs Health" initiative, in which Mainz University Medical Centre, JGU, Fraunhofer ITWM Kaiserslautern and industry partner MCS Data Labs work together, has been awarded the "Digital Places 2023" prize in the Health category (www.land-der-ideen.de).

The Epidemiology Divisions conduct population-based observational studies in the areas of radiation epidemiology, health care research and paediatric epidemiology
The main emphases of the Informatics Division are data protection, electronic data transmission and hospital information systems.
The Documentation Division takes on tasks concerning data management and data collection.
Also located at IMBEI is the German Childhood Cancer Registry.
At the IMBEI, we work in an interdisciplinary team of about 100 dedicated employees that take on various research and teaching tasks. As a facility of the University Medical Centre, the IMBEI is involved in the methodological training of medical students. In addition, the IMBEI offers a post-graduate and consecutive Master of Science in Epidemiology (MSE) programme.
