In the field of patient care, Preventive Cardiology includes the medical care of patients in the context of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention of cardiovascular diseases.
In Preventive Cardiology, as well as in our two further sections (Clinical Epidemiology and Systems Medicine and the Mainz site of the DZHK), we are involved in science. Here, we concentrate on patient-oriented, translational, cardiovascular research. The focus is on conducting clinical trials to improve the prevention, diagnosis, therapy and prognosis of cardiovascular diseases.
