Participation and Procedures

From Invitation to Participation - Overview

Further Information on the Process

  • During the on-site examination appointment, you will of course also have the opportunity to discuss all of your questions about the study with our study staff.
  • Only give your written consent to study participation once all of your questions have been answered. Of course, you can withdraw your consent at any time without giving reasons.
  • The examinations are carried out by medical professionals and are free of charge for the participants.
  • Upon request, you will receive a comprehensive report of the medically relevant examination results at the end of the examination for discussion with your general practitioner or specialist.
  • You will also receive a study card and a study diary. In the study diary you can then record changes in your health situation until the telephone interview.

Please Note

The Gutenberg Health Study is an observational study. The comprehensive individual examinations are performed in a comparable (standardized) manner for all participants and are conducted without individual consultation or treatment. The results of the examination will be available for discussion with the attending (family) practitioner. They can integrate the results in the existing health history and, if necessary, initiate further examinations.
