Structure Of the Study
The interdisciplinary research approach is also reflected in the organizational structure of the Gutenberg Health Study. The Executive Committee, as the highest body, is supported by the Steering Committee and the Study Coordinator in the implementation of the project. Other committees are the Scientific Advisory Board and the Advisory Board for Ethics, Data Protection and Data Security.
The Gutenberg Health Study is conducted as an interdisciplinary research network by the Department of Cardiology I in collaboration with other central institutions:
- Institute for Medical Biometry, Epidemiology and Informatics (IMBEI)
- Department of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy
- Department of Ophtalmology
- Institute for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine
- Center for Thrombosis and Hemostasis (CTH)
- Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy
Renaming Of the Study
To emphasize the interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary approach of the study, it was renamed from "Gutenberg Heart Study" to "Gutenberg Health Study" in February 2011.
