Research Interests of the Radsak Laboratory

The Radsak Lab is part of the Department of Hematology, Oncology, and Pneumology at the University Medical Center of the Johannes Gutenberg-University of Mainz, Germany. In our group we are interested in immunological questions with the aim to improve the treatment of patients with malignancies. In this context we develop novel vaccination strategies against tumors und try to understand the relevant mechanisms here that are required for an optimal anti-tumor response. Another focus is on activation mechanisms of polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMN) within the innate immune response because immunodeficiency and infections are major side effects of commonly used chemo- or radiotherapies used for the treatment of various malignancies.

Our group is closely associated with the Institute for Immunology, so that we are well embedded in the immunologically interested scientific community on a broad basis.
