We are permanently looking for highly motivated graduates holding a degree within the field of biology, chemistry or pharmacy who have a strong background in biochemistry or cell biology to join us as PhD students.
A PhD-Position is available immediately for the research project Sigma1-Receptor in neuronal protein homeostasis, autophagy, and neurodegeneration. The project covers the functional analysis of Sigma-1 Receptor by a variety of cell and molecular biological methods with a particular focus on mechanisms involved in maintaining cell organelle and protein homeostasis.
Candidates should have a first-class academic degree in a Life Science-related discipline (Master or equivalent to obtain a PhD degree), a strong background in biochemistry or cell biology, and be highly motivated and enthusiastic to join the fast-moving and internationally highly competitive field of cellular and molecular neuroscience. We offer a stimulating scientific environment. We can offer tailored interdisciplinary training open to all young researchers (e.g. Transmed-Program of the University Medical Center Mainz), a framework of common scientific activities and a strong mentorship for future career development.
The successful candidates will be appointed as soon as possible. All participating institutions are equal opportunity employers and female and minority candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
