Preventive Medicine Services

With its comprehensive range of services, Preventive Medicine provides the ideal environment for the effective prevention of cardiovascular diseases as well as the ongoing treatment of existing conditions.
Preventive Medicine includes a Lipid Clinic and a Hypertension Clinic.

Lipidology

Lipidology provides a specialized service for patients with complex lipid metabolism disorders. This outpatient clinic is intended for patients who do not achieve therapeutic target values despite lipid-lowering therapy (e.g., due to statin intolerance) or who experience progression of their cardiovascular disease despite conventional lipid-modifying treatment. In addition, as a specialized university outpatient clinic, we focus on the diagnosis and treatment of genetically determined dyslipidemias and offer the evaluation and, if appropriate, initiation of specialized therapies such as PCSK9 inhibitor therapy and lipid apheresis. The aim of our lipid clinic is to prevent the onset and progression of cardiovascular diseases in patients with complex lipid metabolism disorders through an interdisciplinary approach in the context of primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention.
