Mainz - love of life by the Rhine river

Mainz is one of Germany´s oldest cities and it is located only approximately 30 minutes from Frankfurt International Airport. Not only does the old Roman city with its 2,000-year history offer many historic buildings, a great cultural diversity with theaters and museums but it is also known as Germany´s "wine capital".
Today, Mainz is also an important science location in Germany with a focus on biomedical research. For example, the Mainz-based company BioNTech contributed significantly to the development of the first SARS-CoV2 vaccines, the founders of which are still conducting research at Mainz University Medical Center.
