Research Interest of the Schmidlin Laboratory
Our group studies the diverse roles of metabolism in health and disease. Using state-of-the-art LC-MS metabolomics, we monitor dozens to hundreds of metabolites and their interplay across a wide range of biological samples – from cell lines to primary tissue and plasma.
A major part of our work is in the context of DIASyM, where we develop and apply metabolomics approaches to gain a deeper understanding of disease mechanisms.
Our current research projects include:
Novel Metabolomics Technologies
Heart Failure Syndrome
Multi-Organ Footprinting in Disease and Aging
Frailty
Metabolite Antigen Presentation
