The Gutenberg Health Study (GHS) is one of the largest population-based cohort studies in Germany. It combines clinical examinations, questionnaire data, biomaterials, and long-term follow-up, thereby offering a wide range of opportunities for epidemiological, clinical, and translational research. The study is supported by an interdisciplinary research consortium and is continuously being refined scientifically. The goal is to better understand the onset, prevention, and progression of common diseases and to gain insights for the medicine of tomorrow.

Scientific Collaboration and Data Use
The data and biomaterials collected by the GHS represent a valuable resource for national and international health research. Scientific projects are coordinated within the GHS research consortium and conducted in accordance with established quality standards. Interested researchers can obtain information on scientific collaborations, data use, and project proposals through the GHS study management office.

Ethics and Data Protection
The GHS is conducted and evaluated in accordance with the guidelines of the Declaration of Helsinki, Good Scientific Practice, Good Epidemiological Practice, and Good Clinical Practice. All GHS staff members are bound by medical confidentiality and are obligated to maintain data confidentiality. Study data is collected only after participants have received comprehensive information and provided their consent, and is stored on secure servers at Mainz University Medical Center.
