In summer 2015, a new location of the prevention project Dunkelfeld of the prevention network "Kein Täter werden" (Do not become a perpetrator) was opened at the Clinic and Polyclinic for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy at the University Medical Center Mainz. In the project, individuals with pedophilic tendencies are offered therapeutic help anonymously and free of charge in order to prevent pedosexual assaults in advance.

The aim of the project is not to change sexual orientation, but to offer help to pedophiles who are struggling to prevent their sexual fantasies about children and adolescents from becoming reality. We can only treat individuals who are currently not under  prosecution or have not completed their penalty. Those individuals are being offered counseling in the forensic outpatient clinic of the department of psychiatry.

Counseling sessions can be arranged anonymously and free of charge by calling 06131 17-3656 or by mail ( praevention-pt@unimedizin-mainz.de). Please be careful not to communicate personal details in unencrypted emails.

Please note that our services are limited to diagnosis, counselling and treatment of persons seeking advice. For this reason, those seeking advice, institutions or relatives will not receive any information or written feedback on the results of examinations and treatment processes of participants. Such requests will be rejected as a matter of principle.
