Application Procedure

• Tissues or tissue extracts are provided upon written application by the user.
• A defined scientific project and ethics committee approval for the project are required.
• The application is reviewed by the management of the Tissue Biobank with regard to feasibility and possible alternatives (e.g., the use of paraffin-embedded material).
• The Use Committee decides on the allocation of samples based on scientific and organizational considerations and in accordance with the rules of procedure of the Tissue Biobank. If an application is rejected, reasons for the decision will be provided. Contributing clinical departments are granted priority access and have the right of veto.
• Tissues, tissue extracts, or tissue sections are provided to the user for the purpose of conducting the requested analyses. Following the transfer of tissues or extracts, the user is responsible for their proper handling and use in accordance with all applicable regulations. Transfer to third parties requires the approval of the Use Committee.
