The joint autumn workshop of the working groups Epidemiological Methods (DGEpi, GMDS, DGSMP), Statistical Methods in Epidemiology (IBS-DR, DGEpi, DGSMP), Statistical Methods in Medicine (IBS-DR), and Statistical Methods in Clinical Research (GMDS), together with the Cross-Sectoral Initiative on Causal Inference (DGEpi), will take place on 19–20 November 2026 in Mainz, focusing on Quantitative Bias Analysis and Assumption-lean Causal Inference.

We have already secured Prof. Oliver Dukes (Ghent University) as the keynote speaker to cover the topic of assumption-lean causal inference.

Participation in the workshop is free of charge. Submission of abstracts for short presentations (15+5 minutes) are now open via this link (deadline for abstracts: October 18, 2026). Further details about the program will be announced after the registration deadline. Contributions from other topic areas covered by the 5 working groups are also welcome. We particularly welcome contributions from early-career researchers.

The workshop will be held in a hybrid format. However, the presentations should be delivered in person. The workshop will be conducted in English.
