Research groups

Our research is organized around three key areas:

1. Disease surveillance and medical registers

This group collects, analyses, and interprets data on the current burden of disease among children and adolescents. The group focuses on common and rare chronic conditions as well as emergency and critical care use. Its work contributes to quality improvement, prevention, healthcare resources planning, and pandemic preparedness and rapid response.

2. Health services research for children and adolescents

This group investigates the healthcare of children and adolescents under real-world conditions. Key areas of research include the development, evaluation, and implementation of innovative models of care for children and adolescents with chronic conditions.

3. Health promotion and disease prevention for children and adolescents

This group develops, evaluates, and implements interventions to promote health and prevent disease among children and adolescents. Key areas include setting-based approaches, including interventions in educational and childcare settings, as well as strengthening health literacy. The group aims to translate scientific evidence into effective preventive interventions and evidence-informed policy recommendations.
