Licence for Infectious medicine

An Initiative of the Interdisciplinary Infection Medicine (IIM, former AKIM) in cooperation with the Center for Cardiology (Dr. Ingo Sagoschen), Pharmacy (Dr. Bettina Siegrist) and the Institute of Medical Microbiology (Dr. Moritz Brandstetter, Dr. Martin Dennebaum) – the event is open to all parties interested.

The basics of infection medicine are taught from the point of view of several disciplines; in the sense of an “antibiotic stewardship” (ABS):
  • Management of a patient with a suspected infectious disease: practical and adequate
  • Microbiological diagnosis: targeted and consequent
  • Use of medication: safe and effective
Using various clinical cases, participants learn the most important components for the correct diagnostic and therapeutic management of patients with common infectious diseases and how to implement them in everyday clinical practice. The learning model is based on the multidisciplinary approach of an ABS team (representatives from the clinic, microbiology, infection prevention, infectiology and pharmacy).

Free of charge and certified with 7 points by the Bezirksärztekammer Rheinhessen.
