Mark Ansel is an Associate Professor in the UCSF Department of Microbiology & Immunology. He was born and raised in Amish country - Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He completed a B.S. in Biochemistry at Virginia Tech, a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences at UCSF, and postdoctoral training at the Immune Disease Institute at Harvard Medical School. His laboratory is in the Sandler Asthma Basic Research Center at the UCSF Parnassus campus.
