Below you will find all upcoming events, such as talks, transferable skills courses, or lab courses.
All listed events carry a number of TransMed credit points corresponding to the time of attendance. 0.1 TransMed credit point is equivalent to 45 minutes of attendance.
Dr. Feuerer is head of the research group Immune Tolerance and a physician by training. He received his PhD in 2003 at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg and spent his postdoctoral years at the Charité in Berlin in Experimental Rheumatology. Afterwards he spent 5 years at the Joslin Diabetes Center and Department of Pathology, Harvard Medical School, Boston. In 2009 he became head of the Helmholtz Young Investigator research group Immune Tolerance (D100), German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) and moved back to Germany.
Dr. Markus Feuerer’s research focuses on regulatory T-cells (Treg) in the context of autoimmunity and anti-tumor-immunity. As harnessing the potential of Treg cells is one of the promising new approaches to control immune function and treat autoimmune diseases and cancer, he and his group aim to understand the underlying molecular pathways that control development and function of Foxp3+ Treg cells. The second major focus is on the immune regulation through myeloid cells and their relationship to inflammation involved in cancer formation or progression.
