Fachveranstaltung

Brigitte M. Jokusch, Research Ombudsman: "Good Scientific Practice"

Veranstalter: Institute of Molecular Biology (IMB)

Host of this seminar is Prof. Dr. Christof Niehrs.

What am I allowed to do if using photoshop in order to optimise a figure? May I show only a detail of my gel? Can I choose the statistical test which shows the significance best? Can I claim to be first author of a paper?

What is common practice and where does scientific misconduct begin? A lecture full of examples and their consequences.

The German Research Ombudsman's prime task is to act as a guardian of scientific morals and as a mediator in matters of scientific misconduct. In this seminar, Prof. Jockusch will focus on the Ombudsman’s role in solving challenges between tutors and tutored young academics, inadequate mentoring, questions of plagiarism, fraud and authorship conflicts. A must-attend for young researchers in the competitive world of science.

Please save the date, inform your colleagues and register here (only for purpose of room capacity planning, no binding commitment):
