Veranstalter: UCT (University Center for Tumor Diseases )

It is our pleasure to invite you to the 9th Mildred Scheel Lectureship given by Prof. Dr. Margaret Shipp, Harvard Medical School and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA, USA.

This year, the UCT Mainz (in addition to the CCC Munich) was entrusted by the German Cancer Aid (Deutsche Krebshilfe, DKH) to organize the 2018 Mildred Scheel Lectureship. With the unique Mildred Scheel Lectureship Series, we pay tribute to the outstanding commitment of Dr. Mildred Scheel in the fight against cancer for which she is to this date nationally and internationally highly regarded. The goals of the Lectureship Series are to honor outstanding cancer researchers and Medical and Clinician Scientists dedicated to the advancement of cancer research. In addition, through discussion with these pioneers, we would like to encourage in particular young scientists and MDs to pursue a scientific career. Each lectureship encompasses two to three CCC sites throughout Germany.

The UCT Mainz offers a guided "meet the speaker"-session on Sept. 5th from 3:30p.m.-5p.m. in Seminar Room 1, Building 102 (Chair: Dr. Inga Melzer) for an exclusive group of particpants who will be able to discuss career- and science-related topics at a personal level with Prof. Shipp. The session of open for all medical and clinician scientists at the UCT Mainz and its partners (from student, over MD, PhD, Postdoc up to group leaders). To join this exciting event, please register until August 17th via e-mail ( inmelzer@uni-mainz.de), briefly indicating your name, affiliation, and career level (PhD, Postdoct, etc. ...).
