Cell Biology Unit Seminar: "Endocytosis - Lectins path the way"

Veranstalter: Prof. Dr. K. Rajalingam, Cell Biology Unit

It is a pleasure to announce the next Cell Biology Unit Seminar on "Endocytosis - lectins path the way" held by Dr. Christian Wunder from the Institut Curie in Paris.

Endocytosis is critical for cellular homeostasis and cell signaling.

    Critical questions are:
    •    What regulates endocytosis of plasma membrane receptors – not all have a ligand?
    •    How is endocytosis regulated in an acute manner?
    •    What decides the final fate of internalized molecules (intracellular destination)?
    •    What are the physiological processes depending on this regulation?

Christian and his colleagues discovered a growth factor-carbohydrate-lectin axis as crucial in the regulation of endocytosis.

We hope that many of you will join the seminar.
