Urology

The main focus of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Urology and Pediatric Urology of the University Medical Center Mainz is the surgical and medical treatment of urological tumor diseases, benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH), urinary stones, bladder dysfunction and urinary incontinence in men and women. Another focus is reconstructive urology, which includes the construction of various forms of incontinent and continent urinary diversion. In addition, the clinic is a center for minimally invasive therapy, particularly for robotically assisted surgery.

Prevention is important - and not only at an advanced age. Starting at the age of 40, urological diseases increase significantly in both men and women, so we recommend customized preventive examinations on a regular basis. As part of preventive examinations, you will be examined for diseases of the kidneys, adrenal glands, ureter, bladder, urethra, prostate and the male reproductive organs. Particularly for men over 45 years of age, we offer prostate cancer screening to prevent one of the most common tumor diseases in men. In addition to oncological matters, diseases that impact the quality of life such as bladder dysfunctions, incontinence and erectile dysfunction as well as benign prostate enlargement will be evaluated.

The concept of preventive medicine at the University Medical Center Mainz includes an excellently structured and first-class preventive examination. As a maximum care clinic, we can offer a complete range of urological therapy options at the highest level.
