- This is the reaction we often get when people ask us about our field of expertise. Epidemiology - many people do not know what it is. This has changed with the COVID-19 pandemic, but still (or perhaps because of this) many people have questions about us and our subject. The Institute of Medical Biometry, Epidemiology and Informatics (IMBEI) at the University Medical Centre Mainz and the students of the Master of Science in Epidemiology from Mainz decided to go out and ask people what they wanted to know about epidemiology.
