Junior group 'Systemic inflammation and vascular disease'
Susanne Karbach, MD, PD
Junior Group Leader
Our group investigates the impact of inflammation mediators on the vasculature and coagulation system. In particular we are interested in the crosstalk between autoimmune disorders and the associated cardiovasular comorbitity of these disorders.
Research interest
- Role of IL-6 and IL-6-induced cytokines for the interaction of cells and factors of the immune system and blood coagulation
- IL-17A, IL-6 and vasculare dysfunction / inflammation
- Psoriasis and salt-water-homeostasis
- Organ-crosstalk skin-vasculature
