The CTH is involved in the following research initiative:

ReALity Innovation Fund

The research initiative ReALity (Resilience, Adaptation and Longevity) investigates how biological systems respond to internal and external hazards and develop resilience thereafter and how this restores the physiological balance and supports the longevity of the organism.

Research groups of the CTH are involved in the following subprojects:

• Development and Characterization of a Mouse Model of Immuno-aging (Prof. Wolfram Ruf)
• EpiHF – Understanding the Pathophysiology Related to Epigenetic Modifications in Heart Failure Syndrome (Prof. Philipp Wild)
• MORE – Molecular Mechanisms of Resilience (Prof. Christoph Reinhardt, Prof. Katrin Schäfer, Prof. Philipp Wild)
• ReALity HBBA – ReALizing Healthy Body and Brain Aging (Prof. Philipp Wild)

CHANCE

The Clinician Scientist Programme of the Centre for Healthy Aging (CHANCE) is a career development programme for (Advanced) Clinician Scientists funded by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Within this programme, clinician scientists are given the opportunity to work on independent research projects based on fundamental findings in ageing research, new translational questions in the field of healthy ageing, multimorbidity and regeneration therapies.
