Professur für Multizentrische Klinische Studien

Wir planen und koordinieren seit 2012 akademische multizentrische klinische Studien zur Behandlung thrombotischer Erkrankungen auf europäischer und internationaler Ebene. Im Fokus unseres Interesses steht die Optimierung der Diagnostik und Therapie von Patientinnen und Patienten mit venöser Thromboembolie.

In laufenden prospektiven randomisierten und Kohortenstudien untersuchen wir:

• neue Reperfusionsstrategien (niedrig dosierte systemische Thrombolyse, kathetergestützte pharmakomechanische Thrombusauflösung) zur risikoadaptierten Behandlung schwerer akuter Lungenembolien (sog. intermediär hohes Risiko)
• die Identifizierung von Patientinnen und Patienten mit Lungenembolie, welche anhand ihres niedrigen Risikos für eine Frühentlassung und ambulante Behandlung geeignet sind
• Ansätze – über die Antikoagulation hinaus – zur Reduktion des Rezidivrisikos und Modifikation des globalen kardiovaskulären Risikoprofils nach venösen Thromboembolien
• klinisch zuverlässige, kosteneffiziente Algorithmen zur Verlaufsbeobachtung nach Lungenembolie zwecks Prävention oder frühzeitiger Detektion von schwerwiegenden Spätfolgen
• innovative Konzepte zur Deeskalation der primären postoperativen Thromboprophylaxe parallel zu der Weiterentwicklung schonender operativer Verfahren und beschleunigter Mobilisationsstrategien.

Abgesehen von individuellen Forschungsprojekten besteht die Mission der Professur Multizentrische Klinische Studien des CTH darin, bei der globalen Vernetzung von Exzellenzzentren in der Thrombose- und Thromboembolie-Forschung eine führende Rolle zu spielen.
