Core-TransMed

A central goal of TransMed is to educate excellent medical graduates together with their companion natural science graduates to enable them to become future leaders in biomedical research, both in academia as well as in the pharmaceutical industry.

TransMed provides an integrated, multidisciplinary training program in all aspects of translational biomedicine with a core curriculum that also offers career-relevant transferrable skills.

For medical graduates (with or without a MD thesis), TransMed offers participation in a Clinician Scientist Program for 2-3 years with "protected time" allocated solely to perform research in parallel with a residency program in order to obtain a specialty training. Upon completion of the program a TransMed Certificate will be awarded by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and the TransMed Program Director.

Within this MD/PhD regulation, MD TransMed Fellows are able to obtain an MD/PhD degree.

For natural science graduates, TransMed offers a training that fosters their knowledge in translational aspects of biomedical research. Upon completion of the program a TransMed Certificate will be awarded by the TransMed Program Director.
