Depending on the pandemic situation the workshop will be held online or in attendance.
This workshop is aimed at doctoral candidates who are already informed about possible career paths after a doctorate and have already considered their suitability and motivation for various career options. It will help the participants find and apply successfully for a favourable job.
Methods of this highly interactive workshop comprise motivational talk, presentations, small group/individual exercises, video-recording, feedback and individual check of CV/covering letter. The workshop is divided into 3 parts:
Part 1 (workshop day 1) focuses on the job search and the written application. In preparation for the interview training, the participants will also give a short presentation about themselves and their skills on this day.
For part 2 (individual task to be completed between the two days of attendance), the participants will look for an advertisement for a job they are interested in and write a CV and a covering letter, which they send to the trainer at least 2 days before the second day of attendance.
Part 3 (workshop day 2) is devoted to the interview and assessment centre. During the interview training you will receive feedback on the documents you have submitted as well as valuable tips for preparing for an interview. The day ends with practical exercises for the Assessment Center.
Target audience: Biomedical doctoral candidates at a later stage who are already informed about possible career paths after a doctorate and have already considered their suitability and motivation for various career options, but have limited experiences in the application process. B2-Knowledge of English is required.
