Head of the Competence Center for Player Protection & Prevention, Research Associate, Universitätsmedizin Mainz 

  • Development and evaluation of evidence-based player protection measures in regulated gambling markets
  • Design and implementation of quantitative and qualitative consumer research (e.g. surveys, focus groups)
  • Expertise in mixed-methods research, questionnaire development, and statistical analysis
  • Scientific dissemination through publications, reports, and stakeholder presentations
  • Advisory role in policy and regulatory discussions (e.g. German state-level authorities)
  • Auditor for the European Lotteries Responsible Gaming Standard (certification and re-certification audits) for various German lottery operators

  • Player protection from the player perspective: Awareness, use and evaluation of player protection measures (2025). Nationwide online panel survey (N=1,961), including experimental components on safer gambling messages. Funded by the Bristol Hub for Gambling Harms Research (Research Innovation Fund Strategic Award 2024/25). 
  • Evidence-based player protection communication: A focus group evaluation of information and communication on gambling addiction and player protection (2023). Qualitative focus group study conducted by the Competence Center for Player Protection & Prevention in cooperation with a German state lottery operator.
